Cooking Instructions

Total cooking time: 35 minutes 

Please note that all ovens are different. These are the recommended cooking instructions but please make sure that all food is piping hot before serving. We’d recommend getting all your dishes out of the fridge and reading through the cooking instructions, so you know when everything needs to go in the oven. Otherwise, sit back, relax and let us do the hard work. Bon Appétit!

 

Starter 

ON THE MENU 

  • Fougasse (Cook time 10 minutes) 
  • Garlic Butter (Ready to eat) 

Total cooking time: 10 minutes – For best results oven cook. 

  1. Pre-heat your oven to fan 180°C / electric 200°C / gas mark 6. 
  2. Place the fougasse on a baking tray, reserving the garlic butter for later. Pop the fougasse in the oven and heat for 10 minutes. 
  3. Remove from the oven, top with garlic butter and serve. 

Main 

ON THE MENU 

  • 2x Minute Steak (Cook time 2-4 minutes)
  • Sun-Dried Tomato Butter (Ready to eat)
  • Creamed Mushrooms (Cook time 5 minutes)
  • Frites 

Total cooking time: 25 minutes – For best results oven cook. 

  1. Pre-heat your oven to fan 180°C / electric 200°C / gas mark 6. 
  2. The beef is best cooked in a nice hot pan. You shouldn’t need any oil in the pan as the natural fats from the meat will help you out here.  
  3. Remove the steak from its packaging at least 10 minutes before cooking to allow it to reach room temperature. Just before cooking, season well with salt & pepper. 
  4. Empty the frites onto a non-stick baking tray and spread evenly. Once the oven is hot, pop the fries in and set a timer for 25 minutes or until golden.  
  5. Meanwhile, cook the steak on both sides in a hot pan. Avoid turning too often. We recommend the following times depending on your preference:  

2 minutes each side – Medium rare
3 minutes each side – Medium
4 minutes each side – Well done 

  1. Remove from the pan and rest your steak under a layer of foil for about as long as you cooked it for. 
  2. Remove packaging from the mushrooms, decant into a saucepan and simmer on a low heat for a few minutes until hot.   
  3. Once rested, add a round of sun-dried tomato butter to the top of the steak and serve alongside the creamed mushrooms and seasoned frites.

  • 2x Crème Caramel (Ready to eat) 
  1. Turn out of the ceramic pot onto a plate before eating. You may find this easier if you run a knife around the inside of the pot to loosen the crème caramel from the sides.
